The Andalusian Fair returns to Ibiza: three days of flamenco, gastronomy, and passion
Summer in Ibiza doesn’t just begin with the opening of the beach clubs or the first sunset at Café del Mar. There is an event that, over the years, has become a collective ritual for the islanders and an authentic experience for those visiting the island during this time: the Andalusian Fair of Ibiza, which returns for a new edition from April 17 to 19 in the parking lot of Sa Joveria.
Three days of live music, traditional dances, colourful outfits, tapas, and the unmistakable joy of southern Spain, in the heart of an island that has welcomed and celebrated the Andalusian community as an integral part of its identity for decades.
A deep bond between Ibiza and Andalusia
To understand why this fair makes so much sense in Ibiza, just look at the island’s recent history. Since the 1960s, thousands of workers from Andalusia have settled in Ibiza, making a decisive contribution to the island’s economic, construction, and tourism growth. Today, that presence is reflected in entire families, flavours, traditions, and a cultural pride that finds its highest expression in the Feria.
Not surprisingly, the councillor of culture Carmen Domínguez described it as “a festival with deep roots in our city, a great opportunity to celebrate, dance, laugh, and enjoy Andalusian cuisine without leaving our municipality.”
The complete program: three evenings not to be missed
Friday, April 17 – The grand opening
The fair opens at 8:30 PM with the lighting of the lights, a symbolic moment that marks the beginning of the celebration. The evening continues with a series of live performances: the rhythms of “Los del Varadero,” the voice of “Verónica San Juan,” and the verve of the group “Las Carlotas y Cintia Merino.” To close the night, starting at midnight, will be “Esta me la sé”.
Saturday, April 18 – Dance and Copla
From 8:00 PM, the stage comes alive with the choreographies of Teresa Rojas’ dance academy, followed by the ensemble “Soniquete.” The evening then picks up with “La sevillana y la copla” by Jonhatan Santiago and Manuel Merraquero, concluding on the dance floor with “Que me quiten lo bailao.”
Sunday, April 19 – Grand Afternoon Finale
Sunday offers a different, more family-oriented rhythm: at 4:00 PM, «Que me quiten lo bailao» will take the stage again, while from 5:30 PM, the local group «Ibossim» will close this edition with their usual warmth.
What to expect: atmosphere, gastronomy, and colors
An Andalusian fair is much more than an outdoor concert. It’s a sensory universe: the flamenco dresses with their colourful ruffles, the men with the cordobés hat, the children learning the first steps of sevillana, and above all, the smell of the casetas with their typical dishes. Expect fried fish, torrijas, gazpacho, and the indispensable fresh manzanilla.
The Sa Joveria venue, a familiar setting from past years, provides the ideal backdrop for a genuine fair experience, balancing intimacy with a lively ambiance.
An event for all: locals, families, and tourists alike. The Andalusian Fair is a celebration that welcomes everyone.
It is the perfect opportunity for residents to reunite, for families to bring their children in touch with a living tradition, and for visitors to discover a side of Ibiza far from the nightclubs: an island of roots, of community, of parties that start at sunset and end when the night decides.
If you’re on the island this weekend, Sa Joveria is the place to be.
